The Mill Arts Centre Exhibition: Madeleine Allcock

Each day over the next two weeks, we introduce an artist exhibiting their work at The Mill Arts Centre. Read on to discover more about your favourite local artists.

Madeleine Allcock's maps have drawn attention to the gallery shop window in Church Lane, and represent her pride in the local area. Her map of Cropredy Festival was particularly popular, with people buying and gifting the map to remember times spent with loved ones over the years at the well-loved music scene.

This time she has created an intricate map of Oxford, inspired by the morning light in Autumn reflecting off the historical stone buildings. If you look closely, you can spot many favourite places including Oxford colleges, pubs, shops and museums, including characters and scenes from local authors such as Alice in Wonderland. The map is available for sale via Etsy.

Also on display is her Map of Banbury, and editorial illustration City Block, exploring the impact of the last year and a half on infrastructure and local businesses.

Our exhibition is available to view at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Covid-19 procedures will be in place to keep everyone safe.
