CHURCH LANE  GALLERY
Ginny Stanifor, Textile Artist
Ginny Staniford.jpg

Sustainability is at the heart of her practice — she rarely buys new materials, instead breathing new life into discarded clothes, home furnishings, fabric samples, and even bags for life. Each piece Ginny creates carries a history, with textures and imperfections that add to its story.

Heat is central to Ginny’s technique. Using a heat gun, iron, and soldering iron, she manipulates fabrics to create distinctive textures, layered surfaces, and unexpected forms. Her style is ever-evolving, shaped by curiosity and the unexpected effects of each process on a myriad of different textiles.

Ginny especially loves working on bespoke commissions, turning cherished fabrics into deeply personal pieces. Whether it’s baby clothes, a loved one’s shirt, a nurse’s uniform, or ties for a retirement gift, she creates something truly special—thoughtful, personal, and sustainable. If you’re curious or have an idea in mind, feel free to get in touch with Ginny. There’s absolutely no pressure—just a friendly chat to explore the possibilities!
