Hello, my name is Costas Peratopoullos. I have been creating traditional stained pieces for some time now.

My work is influenced by nature and the surrounding country side near my home.

The work I produce is based on how it would have been created during medieval times.

The pigments I use are a mixture of crushed glass, iron, copper and lead oxides. These are ground together and made into a paste. This is my paint.

As you can see from my work, I only use black, brown and silver stain to create the end result.

Once painted I fire the glass in a kiln, in some cases multiple times depending on the detail of the work.

The process is fascinating and still intrigues me, even after so many years as a practitioner I am still learning and developing.

Never stand still.
